Einat Skelesky

Shenkar graduate at French firm Lancel

Einat Skelesky, a graduate of Shenkar's Fashion Design Department,
accepted for internship at the French company Lancel

Einat Skelesky, a Shenkar graduate who completed her studies in the Department of Fashion Design a year ago, was accepted for an internship at the Lancel company in Paris, which specializes in prestigious leather accessories: suitcases, handbags, wallets, belts, and more. Skelesky was accepted for the internship at the company after concluding a master's degree at the Creative Academy in Milan.

The Creative Academy was established about four years ago and grants masters degrees in the field of fashion accessories. The Creative Academy is a corporation that encompasses 18 of the leading companies in the field, including Paneri, IWC, Mont Blanc, Lancel, Chloe, Van Cleef and Cartier. Each year, 20 students are selected from among the graduates of the world's leading schools of fashion design, textiles and jewelry. The students receive full funding for their studies.

Einat describes her period in Milan as a fascinating experience that contributed greatly to her on both the personal and professional levels. The intensive and rich program of studies covers a variety of topics aimed at training the students in designing prestigious accessories. In addition, the curriculum includes visits to major exhibitions held in European capitals.

Einat presented various works from her Shenkar portfolio to the selection committee for the master's degree program. Her portfolio includes a modular collection of fashion accessories (clogs, handbag, belt and chain) made from rubber gaskets taken from the world of plumbing and combined with snaps to enable assembly and disassembly of the product in countless original possibilities.

Einat designed her final project inspired by hair, which constitutes a symbol of aggression and power, and the punk movement that was popular in the 1980s. The collection combines metal accessories with soft fabrics, with hair as a design and decorative material, to give the collection an aggressive and powerful look that is also feminine and sexy.
