Avsh Alom Gur Autumn Winter 07/08 Collection - Rich, Bold, Colorful, and he's a Shenkar graduate
Avsh Alom Gur – London based fashion designer, is a graduate of the Department of Fashion Design at Shenkar College of Engineering & Design, and a graduate (with distinction) of the MA fashion course at The Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design.
For Autumn Winter 07/08, Avsh Alom Gur is inspired by ceremonial costume, symmetry and architecture in silk jersey, velvet and cashmeres. Gur’s fascination with tribal culture and ancient arts and crafts is evident throughout his work. Semi-precious stones adorn silk jersey t-shirts, recalling ancient Aztec traditions. Individual hand-carved pieces are like archeological treasures that would sit comfortably in a museum.

After graduating he went on to work for Chloe, Roberto Cavalli, Donna Karan and Nicole Farhi and recently he decided to launch his own business label Avsh Alom Gur. He has won the New Generation Award for 2005, and his Spring/Summer 2006 collection was launched at London Fashion Week with an off schedule show followed by an exhibition at the Natural History Museum.
Gur is now considered one of London's most-watched young designers, and with those achievements in his resume there is no doubt he is destined for success.
