As every year, Shenkar hosted its Board of Governor members at a festive gala evening, which took place at “STOA”. The highlight of the evening was without a doubt, the fashion show of historical costumes from the 14th to the 19th century.
The audience was extremely impressed with the fact that the clothing in the show was constructed from raw material, used to create patterns. All the sheer fabrics, pleats, ornamentation and even the accessories were cream colored. This enabled the audience to become enthused about the small details without the interference of color. Each sample was worn and presented by its creator - that is, the students themselves – young, attractive, and vivacious, with considerable acting ability - while presenting their creations with unconcealed pride and excitement.

The show was produced by two of the leading designers in Israel: Ronen Levin and Mony Mednik, both senior lecturers and graduates of the department.
The gala event was attended by Knesset members, senior industrialists, designers academics and of course – the members of Shenkar’s Board of Governors from Israel and the abroad, headed by Danna Azrieli, Chairman of the International Board of Governors. Other participants included, Shalom Seidler, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Governors and Chairman of the Israeli Friends of Shenkar, Yossi Lev, Chairman of the Governing Council; Prof. Amotz Weinberg, President of Shenkar and others.
